About Aneta Cieplak

Artistic Bio

Aneta Cieplak’s journey as an artist began in the idyllic countryside of Poland, where she was surrounded by the natural beauty that sparked her creative spirit. From a young age, she was captivated by various crafts and artistic pursuits, finding inspiration in her picturesque surroundings.

At the age of eighteen, driven by determination, Aneta moved alone to United Kingdom. She dreamed of attending university, but her first step towards realising her dreams was working as an au pair, which allowed her to gain valuable experiences and establish international connections. This period in Windsor, spanning from 2004 to 2018, was marked by a challenging balance between work and education, which left little room for her artistic passions. Despite this, Aneta stayed connected to her creativity, designing her cousin’s wedding dress and creating theater costumes for children.

A subsequent move to Zurich, Switzerland, in December 2018 reignited Aneta’s artistic flame. Embracing this new chapter, she dedicated herself to painting, exploring various techniques and themes. Her work reflects the rich tapestry of her life experiences and her unique perspective on the world.

Aneta’s artwork is a vivid portrayal of her emotional and experiential journey. It captures the joy, liberation, confusion, and cruelty she has encountered, as well as the hard work and sacrifices she has made. Her paintings challenge societal norms and present a raw, disillusioned view of life’s realities. Through her art, she invites viewers to explore their own emotions and experiences, encouraging them to find personal meaning in the stories and feelings evoked by her canvases.

In every piece, Aneta seeks to capture her memories and convey the essence of human existence within societal constraints. Her art challenges viewers to look beyond the surface and discover their own narratives, recognizing that true understanding comes from personal reflection. Aneta’s work is an invitation to delve into the depths of one’s own experiences, finding connection and meaning in the textures and colors she brings to life.

On September 29, 2023, Aneta published her first children’s illustration book, “Leona, Dad and Pink Bunny”, with Olympia Publishers in London, United Kingdom. This milestone marks a significant expansion of her creative endeavors, showcasing her versatility and storytelling ability.
